The Grande Arche of La Défense exposed
RFR is the project leader for the renovation of the interior facade and gables of the North Wall of the Grande Arche.
The renovation project involves replacing the glass frames and their aluminium cladding, but also the replacement of the hanging stone, partially preserving the original supports. The renovation also includes the adding of a maintenance platform on the internal facade.
The construction works are carried out by maintaining the building activity of which more than 20 levels are occupied.
Machinery and means of access alone represent a challenge: supply, assembly, structure support, often take place in staggered times to avoid noise nuisances and maintain the safety of exits.
